Not a Destination

ADHD is Not a Destination

Have you ever met someone who is on their journey and when they share their story you feel honored to have heard it? My guest today is sharing her story in hopes that others like her will know they are not alone.

Meet Tené Dowling. Originally from Bermuda, she now lives in the UK, but she’s been all over the world. I loved listening to her…and not just because of her beautiful accent but her beautiful message.

Tené’s Awesome Quote:

Not a Destination
“Never underestimate somebody
with ADHD.”

*

Not a Destination, It’s a Journey

It may sound a bit cliché but not when it’s about Tené. She gives real world examples of the ups and downs, which have defined her road travelled. All in all she says she wouldn’t change a thing!

Tené is now on a path of advocacy. She’s passionate about helping to shed light on what is such a misunderstood and underestimated condition. In helping you understand her, she hopes you’ll see ADHD is not about being a rude child or bad parenting, it’s about genetics and brain chemistry and never giving up.

  1. It’s so amazing to know that even across the ocean there’s someone like me. Every ADHDer is different but also, somehow, similar. I like how she doesn’t present her hardships as a negative, but instead a gift. Like when she didn’t believe that she could get into the university of her choice, and she wrote an essay about her experience with ADHD and was positively received. I think we need to spend more time realizing how much ADHD gives us rather than takes away. Thank you for sharing this, I’ll be on the look out for more like it!

    1. Thank you, Morgan Elizabeth, I’ll be sure and pass along the message to Tené!
